My friend and me (in the red jacket) leaving the island Silba
My name is Mira Hladnik. I come from Kranj (Slovenia), a small town of about 40,000 inhabitants, where I have been employed as an English teacher for about 27 years. Working with youngsters has always been both awarding and challenging. Our students pick up a lot of their knowledge of English from other sources, especially from their work with computers. It's transparent that we teachers need to modernize our teaching methods. Blogging, taking part at forums, i.e. communicating with their counterparts from abroad... as a part of our OIV (a subject up to one's personal choice) will hopefully cater to the students' needs more efficiently.
